Le commandant de bord de l’avion de la compagnie Ethiopian Airlines qui s’est écrasé le 10 mars dernier avec 158 personnes à bord n’avait pas pu s’entraîner sur le nouveau simulateur conçu pour le Boeing 737 MAX 8. C’est ce qu’a indiqué un de ses collègues.
C’est une curieuse révélation. Celle confiée à Reuters par un collègue du commandant du Boeing 737 MAX. Confidence faite sous le couvert de l’anonymat.
« Yared Getachew, qui avait 29 ans, devait recevoir une nouvelle formation à la fin mars, soit deux mois après qu’Ethiopian Airlines eut reçu l’un de ces simulateurs » a fulminé d’emblée ce collègue.
A noter que le débat sur la sécurité du nouveau système MCAS, dispositif qui permet d’assurer la stabilisation de l’avion après le décollage, s’est posé avec beaucoup d’acuité récemment. Notamment avec le crash, quelques mois après d’un autre 737 MAX 8 en octobre en Indonésie.
Mais selon de collègue de Yared, Boeing n’avait pas envoyé de manuels relatifs au MCAS. « Le fait est que nous en savons plus sur le MCAS par les médias que par Boeing « , conclut-il.
